We’ve seen snippets of normalcy from most members of the royal family. There was the time Prince Harry brought Princess Lillibet to a Fourth of July parade, the time Prince William revealed that Prince George listens to AC/DC, and the fact that Prince Louis has been allowed to break royal tradition and wear pants. (Gasp! How “suburban” of him.)
But Princess Eugenie may have just established her and her family as the most down-to-earth royals. The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson posted a sweet birthday tribute on Instagram for her son August’s third birthday and we just can’t get over how normal it all is.
Family of Four
Princess Eugenie shares Augie and 8-month-old son Ernest (AKA “Ernie”) with husband Jack Brooksbank. In the first photo of the carousel, Princess Eugenie and Augie sit on the ground on some kind of concrete surface outside. (Maybe a driveway?) They’re leaning up against a brick wall and Augie is leaning into his mom with a huge grin on his face. They’ve swapped tiaras and crowns for beanies and bike helmets and are rocking some outdoor boots. Looks like Augie could have just finished up a bike ride on a fall day and now the two are just resting on. the. ground. She’s literally down to earth.
“Forever a force of nature and forever giggling with you,” Princess Eugenie wrote in her caption to Augie.
In the next photo, Princess Eugenie is giving Augie a smooch on the lips and holding a ketchup-covered hotdog. Because apparently she’s as American as she is laid back! In the third, she holds both her boys who look like they’re in their pajamas. Their backs are to the camera and Eugenie’s face is peeking between them. She has messy hair, little makeup, and the biggest smile. We’re not so sure how the palace felt about these stripped-down photos, but we love how genuine they are.
“I love how very real a person she is,” one person commented.

ICYMI: Royal commenters recently noted that Augie looks just like a young Prince Harry and the resemblance is truly uncanny. They both have light, side-swept hair, inquisitive eyes and eyebrows, and cheeks that are begging to be pinched. Even their ears — weird as it may be to say — look the same. (See the photos HERE.)
Now we want to see Princess Eugenie and her family meet up with the Sussexes for the Fourth of July. They can enjoy some hotdogs and outdoor time, and we can get some side-by-sides of the 3-year-old and the 39-year-old prince.
